In France or elsewhere?

Anywhere the big tour operators don't go is a good start but you shouldn't have huge crowds in March in any case, as I think just about everyone else has had their half-term breaks by then.

Want somewhere quiet? Forget about France and go to Champoluc/Gressoney (italy) in the Monterosa ski area. Crystal Ski go there and also look at Ski2 website and also Snow Secrets. If you really need to go to France then probably Morzine or one of the low resorts in the La Plagne area-Monchavin, Montalbert or Champagny en Vanois tend to be quieter than the main La Plagne villages.

I second the shout for monterosa. Ridiculously quiet and stunningly beautiful, and cheap food and drink too.

For France I'd recommend serre chevalier.

Otherwise Austria won't be affected by French holidays and if you choose somewhere with good altitude you'll be fine. Have a look at lech/zurs.

Sorry to say but tye French half terms last 4 weeks - so the week of 3/3 there will be 2 zones on holiday -one of which is the Paris zone. Anywhere in France will be heaving!

Yes agreed, avoid half term in France at all costs.

Probably by going to Austria or Italy.

I have never skied half term, but I would expect it to be very busy
