Anyone in the Avoriaz/Morzine area thinking about doing the Swiss wall?
Me and Snowb4ndit did it a couple of times today and conditions were blissful! ..nice and soft and moguls were tame compared to normal.. powder also off to the left and right (check those avalanche warnings first!!)
its all going rapidly downhill!

I'm not in the area  , but it's definitely on my list of 'unfinished business'! Went to Chatel with my mate and his Dad about ten years ago. We had about five weeks skiing under our belts and had never seen anything like it (and that includes the Mausefalle at Kitzbuhel). It scared us $h!t1£$$ from off the chair-lift across the valley! At first our brains just wouldn't accept that those barely moving ant-like figures were actually skiers.

My mate went to Morzine with some of his mates three weeks ago with the express intention of 'nailing it'. He didn't get the chance; it was closed while they were there, and now he's even more bitter and twisted about it than I am  !

Just to give an idea of how difficult this one is; the very next year we went to Alpe d'Huez and did 'Le Tunnel' and 'La Combe Charbonniere' in the same day. 'Chapeau' to you guys, it's a beast!

Hey guys - your ski-ing must be pretty good now if you're ski-ing things like that!
Wow - I am impressed

Any more videos this year? Of Snowbandit jumping in the snow park or anything else?

Had the intention of skiing it last Thursday but it was closed.
Have to say looking from the chairlift that goes up alongside I don't see what the fuss is about, but do recognize that looking down it may seem a bit different. I've skied far narrower and seemingly steeper runs elsewhere.

I went to Morzine just after coming back form Jackson Hole, when I skied the wall I did wonder what all the fuss was about. It's fairly steep and had massive moguls but no more than other blacks I've done elsewhere.

How does it compare to the Siviez itinerary in Verbier?

Flatten the run of moguls and lets have a nice steep icy piste 8)

Had a quick look at a few videos on Youtube. It looks like a right tester alright. As always conditions are everything. Would not fancy it in icy conditions :x

Did not do the Tunnel in ADH. It looks somewhat similar :x

Has anybody done the Black under the gondola in Westendorf. It is not that long and they do groom it but, boy, is it steep  . I think they claim a gradiant of 80 degrees(?) - not sure if this is correct or makes any sense.

Ironically, I would nearly prefer moguls than a sheer slope  If you do fall on a sheer slope, there is absolutely nothing to stop you until you get to the bottom
