Hi,
I'm looking into my first ski trip to Scotland and I am hoping for a bit of advice on the easiest resort for non-drivers.
I have heard good things about the skiing at Glenshee, but looking at the accommodation around there, it does not seem that easy to get to the lifts without a car. Is this the case?
Are there other resorts in Scotland where I would be able to get on a bus near a hotel and get to the lifts?
Thanks!

Hi Franciose,
Welcome to J2ski. Glenshee is a really good ski area, but the cover is not good this season. It has runs on both sides of the road, including some challenging runs.
Accomodation is not good. The local Spital of Glenshee hotel has been let go, so much so that you can get b&b for £7.50 ~ just don't expect hot water. You also do need a car, both for the hotel, and to get to the ski centre.
A better bet would be to stay in Braemar ~ it has a selection of Victorian style hotels. You would have to check if there is a bus to Glenshee.
You can get a train to Aviemore, where there is a range of hotels and b&bs, and a ski bus to the slopes. The coverage is much better.
Before committing, do check out the weather. The key feature this season is the 50 ~ 100 mph winds!

Thanks Dave Mac.
I like the sound of the ski bus at Avimore, plus if the coverage is better, it might be the best option anyway.
I will check the weather – I was warned that skiing in Scotland would be a different experience!
Cheers
