The 2010 Winter Olympics were seen as the crowning achievement of four decades of growth to world-class status from an unknown BC backwater for Whistler Blackcomb.
"For Whistler, the 2010 Olympic Winter Games was the realization of a dream nearly as old as Whistler, and the basis for early development," said a resort statement.
And having put all that effort in the resort is not about to forget hosting them so as we approach the third anniversary of hosting the Olympics, the 'Resort Municipality of Whistler' (RMOW) has just launched a new 2010 Games Experience guide and map.
"The self-guided tour is a starting point for visitors to learn Whistler's story of the Games and create their own unique Games Experience. Although the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games may be over, the magic and legacies it brought to Whistler will last for generations to come," said a statement from the resort.
The 2010 Games Experience Self-Guided Tour gives you the chance to relive the great moments of the Games by visiting the main points of interest including the state-of-the-art sporting venues that hosted nail-biting events to boisterous crowds celebrating in the heart of Whistler.
"During two extraordinary months in 2010, the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) together with its partners engaged the world, inspired the nation, galvanized the community and affirmed its belief in the power of a dream."
