Mayrhofen Lunches

Must do runs listed. Now need some advice on mountain places to eat & drink. We'll be doing as Tony suggests so what are the good places on the Ahorn and Penken runs 1, 6. 11 & 7? We prefer self service - nothing formal or expensive - and a Tiroler Grostl is a must at least once!!

Heidi's Skistadl is brill.

Ok so the main self service at the top of the penkenbahn is decent, and there's a nice hut 3/4 of the way down red 7
The cafe at the bottom of eggalm is very good also
On ahorn, use the cafe right outside the cable car entrance/exit run by Uli who also owns the happy end in town
If you happen to be in town at lunch time, grab a fantastic roll with meat from the joint in the deli opposite the penkenbahn and ice bar

On the Ahorn you can not go far wrong with Tony_H's suggestion. Lovely grub. It was 5 years ago since I have been there but there was an Ice bar at the top of the Ahorn as well.
