Apart from "not very much because your apartment will be the same size as an, albeit large, shoe box"

Nothing worse than getting into the apartment and not being able to have a drink - T, coffee, Ribena or Glenlivet - whatever floats your boat.
:D
Similarly - you don't want to have to go to the supermarket before anything else so something of some sort to eat.
The only real essentials I would take are salt and pepper (who wants to buy a huge pot of each???) and a loo roll!! Maybe there will be these in place but maybe not.
Of course - if self driving then take the kitchen sink.

Actually, on a totally serious note, if you are flying, you cannot take any liquids. I guess that rules out sauces and milk for the first cuppa.

I also bring a T-towel, hand soap, one toilet roll. And foodwise we bring small amounts of herbs and spices and oils and vinegar. It's very annoying to have to buy a huge bottle of olive oil and then leave it behind!
And I also bring powdered milk, muesli, and tea bags - in case the train is late and the shops are shut when we get there!
