Which area/resort of the above (choosen for up to 2 hours self-drive)would be recommended? Main arguments- sure snow, intermediate level, spa/evening swimming, $$.
Thanks for your experience sharing.

Kitzbuhel 2000m.
Ski Welt 1850m.
Ought to be a no- brainer. Interestingly, Mayrhofen is reporting 20cm at the top, while Kitzbuhel and Ski Welt are reporting 30cm. No snow at resort level at all three as of yet.
However, a major dump is expected all over the Alps this week, so by the time you arrive at the airport it might not really matter which resort you choose. Here's hoping. :-)

The Hof with the option of a short bus ride to Tux if it goes Pete Tong.

Decided - Mayrhofen. Lowest risk.
Next step: any recommendations for self-catering chalets? Must be clean and a bit modern..., but a kind of chalet (if exists) would be great.
We've a rent car, thus doesn't have to be on the spot. Which village is nicest?
Thanks again.

Mayrhofen is, by alpine standards, a largish, working town. Don't think they do quaint there. If you want somewhere a little more 'chocolate boxy', take a look at Finkenberg (on the same lift pass).

I think I probably could to be fair.
It's easy when you've been somewhere a few times.
