Hi We are taking our 3 kids to EuroDisney on 19th Dec and then want to go ski-ing for a week somewhere within travelling distance of Paris. This will be our 1st family ski holiday as we live in Dubai........any suggestions or recommendations will be greatly appreciated as this is on my bucket list so want to make it special (so hopefully my family get the ski-ing bug as well,)
Many thanks

Get the TGV - train - to Moutiers and Bourg St Maurice (same line).
Start to look around this area.
Some of the best resorts in the world are seviced by this train direct from Paris.
Meriber and Courchevel and the Three Valleys from Moutier.
La Plagne a stop further.
From Bourg St Maurice - at the end of the line;
Les Arcs
La Rosierre just up the road and
Val D'Isere and Tignes at the top of this valley 40 minutes away.
From one of these you will find the type and price of accomodation that will suit and all will have reliable snow before Christmas.
Good Luck - enjoy.
Fingers crossed the ski bug comes home to roost.

Old Andys post above is a good one. If you choose to ski La Rosiere you can venture into Italy (La Thuile), accessed from the La Ros slopes on the same lift ticket, might add to the feeling of a family adventure assuming your kids progress well enough to handle a blue slope (they probably will, kids are amazingly quick on the uptake) then you can have lunch in another country. :)

Or TGV to Cluses and head to the Grand Massif or Portes de Soleil resorts.

For simplicity go to Bourg St M. then all you have to do is get n the funicular (or whatever it's called) & it takes you up into Arc 1600.
It's cheaper to stay in Bourg but the snow's in Arc.
There are also busses that take you to the other Arcs & La Plagne.
