I have just booked a week in Morzine for the week over new year. Probably a bit late to ask, but is it busy over new year? Is it worth trying to get tickets for any bars or booking now for restaurants?

Is it particularly cold in Dec/Jan requiring more layers than I would normally take?

I'm assuming the snow base will be fine, but this is my first ski trip so early, normally go in March.

Thank you,
nick

We have booked for the new year in Morzine :D , we are just going to see what happens, but we are in catered chalet.

We book on the day for lunch on the piste depending on the route.

Last year was good lots of snow and if you are skiing you build up heat so keep just as warm, we generally ensure we have a extra layer spare gloves in the back pack just in case, the alcohol is optional.

We booked in La Giettaz, a small village between La Clusaz and Megeve. We wanted to book something for the New Year as well. But the landlady said it was too early. The New Year menus would be ready and bookings would start the beginning of December.
