hello

I'm new to this forum and would like some advice please.

Me and my brother booked a skiing holiday to Pamparovo, Bulgaria feb 12 but didn't make it, as i broke my wrist preparing for the holiday at my local dry ski slpoe.

Were wanting to book another one but this time to actually make it. Were interested in France this time but unsure on which resort to pick.

If anybody could give us some advice on which resort to look into it would be much appreciated. Also we both feel we could step into the intermediate level.

Thanks in advance

Tom

meribel in the 3 valleys is a good bet. it has everthing you need. it has a good nightlife too if you are in your twenties.

Why France, and what requirements do you have?
Its a bit like saying I want to buy a car and fancy a blue one.

cheers well have a look. I'm 20 and my bro is 30. I'm trying to get him hooked so we go every year, he hasn't been skiing in the snow yet only on our local dry ski slope. so hopefully make it this year and get him hooked on it

How many lessons have you had on your local dry slope? You probably won't need a huge resort with hundreds of KM's of slopes. Smaller resorts are generally cheaper.

If your going in February again then check when the holidays are or it could be really busy.
In the low intermediate catagory your probably more interested in cruisy flattering runs to give your bro the bug.
Green/blue/red/black mean diff things in diff resorts in diff conditions. If the snow is nice and plentiful it can turn a black run blue, likewise scraped ice brown with earth poking thru can turn an otherwise gentle run into something else entirely. For that reason alone I would suggest strongly you book a lesson for your first day at least, a little local knowledge is very helpful.
There are plenty of resorts that would fit the bill, you don't need somewhere enormous for your first real snow experience but I would choose somewhere with a lot of blue runs, other than that it rather depends on your budget, where your most convenient airport flys/how much time you want to spend driving or how long you want to spend on a bus transfer.
If your budget is tight you might want to look at Italy or Austria too.
In France Montegenevre is full of flattering cruisy runs for your level, La Thuile in Italy is worth a look too and Hochkonig in Austria.
I'm sure wherever you go you'll have fun. -)

im sure once he gets to the mountains and experiences the real snow he will be hooked.
My kids and i had a years skiing at snowdome in tamworth before we hit the mountains and now we are hooked. then after a year my daughter who is now 17 decided snowboarding was more cool than skiing so now all 3 of us snowboard. not that skiing isnt cool, it doesnt matter as long as you are enjoying what you do.

Obviously not in France but Cervinia would be good choice. Plenty of open runs, good food and enough nightlife for a week.
