Hi
Everyone gave me good advice last year so I would like to ask for your help again.
Les Arcs - would the area be ok for two ladies who are only happy on very easy blues? They were happy in corcheval and alp duez but we would like to try somewhere new at a resonable altitude.
All advice appreciated.

About half the area is made up of blues, some are of course easier than others. If the ladies are very timid I would suggest lessons. If you/they are not up for that then maybe pay for just one private lesson with a view to the instructor taking them on a few runs they will be happy on within their comfort zone. Maybe someone else on here can chime in with a recommendation. Sometimes us girls get stuck on very easy terrain because we may not be confident in the map/mapreader/our ability to adjust to the terrain so a guide who knows the mountain taking the lead even for just a few runs can help us out no end.

If they enjoyed/coped with Alpe d'Huez and Courchevel, then Les Arcs should suit them too. You would also have the option of going over to La Plagne.
Have to agree re private lesson(s) for confidence building.

Les Arc is a fantastic ski resort.I've been there 3 times on a family trip with all abilities and everyone coped with it with no problems. Also as Jastem stated there is an option of going over to La Plagne for the day. This can easy be done but probably expect to be out all day. I managed to go from Bourg St Maurice to Plagne Montalbert in one days skiing with no problem.

I'm sure though Les Arc will be no problem at all. When I stayed in Les Arc, 1800 was my favourite place to stay for the week.

Hi,

Yes I would say les Arcs would be fine, but would recommenb they stay in either Arc 2000 or Arc 1950 if both are looking for wide, relatively easy flattering runs, with options for something a little more challenging slightly further afield over the 1600/1800 Peisey-Vallandry side.

All the best

Just watch the last bit of skiing back into 1950 though. It's a real bun fight where the piste narrows just above the village. When we were there (early March), the pistes were pretty scalped and icy. The easier route for the more cautious skier, would be to ski back into Arc 2000 and then catch the short gondola ride into 1950.
slippy slidey snow......me likey!

Yes this can be quite true at peak times, I would suggest (as with manyFrench resorts plan to go mid to late January, or my top tip see what the conditions are like after easter and go during the last two weeks of the season at that particular resort....I usually go to Les Arcs in the last two weeks of the season and more often than not bet excellent conditions, and it's like having your own personal ski resort :-)
