The nice people at MountainSun are running their very well priced early season Ski & Board Camp again. Prices start at £99. I'm not connected with them in any way.

One day .....
One day ........
I will go on one of these test weeks/trips.
I would love to have the chance of comparing several different pairs of skis in similar conditions to see what the differences are.
Ah well - but I never seem to be able to get the timings and logistics right to get there.

I have been with Mountain Sun to the chalet Les Melezes in Tignes three times now, and the last time was only 2 weeks ago :D
They also do summer activities where you can ski in the morning on the glacier and then go white water rafting etc.
These 3 day holidays are very good value and we always seem to have a great time :D
And they do have lots of different skis/boards to try out. When we were there at the end of October (for the ski and board camp) only the glacier was open and they took us there (and back) in their mini-buses because the free ski buses weren't running as it was out of season.
You have to buy your return flights to Geneva yourself and then the chalet staff do the transfers.

That looks great! Need to talk to DH about it. The price seems exeptional too!

Three days sounds great, and I don't even need to fly to Geneva and won't need to bring my own skis:)

Here is a photo we took of ski-ing on the Grande Motte glacier at Tignes in October half-term '09. At that time only the red and black runs down were open to us, and the area inbetween was reserved for slalom training by various ski teams - local and national.
It was rather like ski-ing in a large outdoor snow-dome, but we had a great time. The second year we were there, at around the same time, it snowed loads just as we got there but only the same ski area was open.
And here is a photo of one of the skiers in training (from the French national team I think):
