Anyone have any experience of La Tania? There are some really good prices for new year week and i would love to ski the 3V.
I am just a little concerned that at 1400m it could be a risky venture for early season....
Opinions?

Its the prices mate, new year is scandalous. Decent hotels in decent areas are 3-4k. Apartments in La Tania are half that.
Bloody kids and there need for schooling.
La Daille does look a good base to be honest. I toyed with the idea too but figured it would be really busy. I know the 3v will be just as bad but i thought that maybe La Tania would be off the beaten track enough to be bearable.

Worst case scenario - up and down one bubble.
Two lifts to access La Loze - linking through to Courchevel 1850 and Meribel Valley.
I think, but am not certain, that there is a fare bit of snow making on the runs down to La Tania.

I'm in the same boat as you snapzzz. In between trying to work, I'm researching destinations for skiing at new year.
1,400m does sound quite low to me. Probably a safer bet by mid/end of Jan? I've just had a quick look at the hindcasts on snowforecast for La Tania. Quite an interesting pattern at resort level. Three years 9/10, 10/11 and 11/12 all had day temps above freezing on run up to new year (with rain in 9/10 and 10/11) but then temps dropped quite a bit below freezing after about 2nd Jan.
If access to Couchevel is good from La Tania then this is a big plus as accommodation presumably much cheaper.
I'm still leaning towards Val d'Isere for new year although could stay in La Daille as an alternative. Have found a great catered chalet but £800 each (x 4)

Fair trek up to skiing area and likely to be hellishly busy. Not somewhere I'd choose to go personally but I would have thought ski conditions would be fine up in 3V.

Just wondering how busy the big resorts will actually be at New Year?
It's not half term weeks for example and to the best of my knowledge New Year is not a major skiing time for most Europeans.
It may well be that it is just popular with us Brits??
I haven't skied NY for a number of years but don't remember xmas or NY being anywhere near as busy as prime February weeks or even Easter.
Others thoughts??
