Hi everyone, it's my first time on these forums.
Wondered if you could give me some advice, me and a friend are looking for a ski holiday in France probably for early April for 3-7 nights.
Ideally it'll be good value, have a decent nightlife, and most importantly good ski conditions.
Is there somewhere you guys/girls could recommend in terms of ski resorts/hotels/chalets etc.
Also where's the best place to book such holidays?
Any help would be much appreciated! :D
France in April?

I think your right to give Snow conditions your highest priority at that time of year so everyone is going to tell you the same....GO HIGH.
Val Thorens & Tignes in France would be best.
Saas Fee or Zermatt for the swiss experience (not going to be good value though)
Or perhaps Obergurgl or Mayehofen in Austria (probably the pick for nightlife)
Where to book depends on you length of stay really. If you go for 7 days then any tour operator will help you out but go for less and you need to look towards specialist short break operators or DIY.
If it were me i would choose VT or Tignes as you will still get ski in ski out (which i prefer). I really can't be doing with buses and all that faff to get to the slopes every morning.

It really isnt high enough to recommend late season.

We have skied in Flaine France for the last 3 years at Easter. Snow poor last year (most resorts were closed) but this resort remained open despite the tropical conditions. If snowfall is generally good this season Flaine a good choice. I have not skied Tignes but friends advise it is more suited to advanced skiers. I have shopped around and there seems to be some good deals with Neilsons. Have fun!

If you can wait and see where has the best snow closer to the time, would be the best advice. If not, safe(er) on top of those mentioned are Chamonix, I would also expect Les Arc and Le Plagne to fine.
Non-France, Cervinia-linked to Zermatt (Italy), For Austria Ischgl, Kaprun, Solden, and somewhere in the Arlberg, St Anton or Stuben in particular. I've skied into May in Saalbach and conditions were amazing even though the resorts tops out at a little over 2000m. Don't think I'd book Saalbach for April if I had to book now though!
