we are looking to go to this area and i have a question on the piste map.
it seems to show that the area is split into 3 self contained areas
1) anton,christoph & stuben(rendle)
2) Zurs lech Oberlech Zug
3) and a very small area of sonenenkopf/Klosterie.
I may be wrong on this but it is how the map appears to me.
so my question is if i am correct on the 3 areas how do you ski between the 3 specific areas or do you need a bus connection which if required i would assume is a free one
hope that makes sense.

St Anton to Lech and Sonnenkopf. Ski down to Stuben and take the bus from there.pauljames wrote:we are looking to go to this area and i have a question on the piste map.

Most operators arrange a day trip to Sonnenkopf, well worth it if the conditions are good.
If you're very good off piste skiers, it's possible to ski from St Anton to Zurs, but you'll need a guide. There's a route down the North Face of the Valluga which is simply epic.

We were in St Anton last year and at the bottom of blue run no 17 in Alpe Rauz there was a free bus every 5 minutes to the Trittkopf gondola in Zurs (and return therefore). Alternate buses (i.e. every 10 mins) ran from Alpe Rauz through Zürs and into Lech. There were hourly service buses (not free) from St Anton to Lech. We didn't go to Klösterle so I'm not aware of the bus service to there.

My memory is that there are two bus services between St Anton and Lech. The skibus which is free and the Postbus which you have to pay for :!:
I am afraid that the bus service was one of my big gripes about the area. They charge a hefty fee for the pass, partly on the basis of the combined areas. This would be fine if the bus service between the different areas was anywhere near adequate to deal with demand. Its not    .
There are too few buses and they are too infrequent. Its usually a horrendous scrum to get on, you often have to stand the whole way and can wait a long time for the return journey. Overall, the service is a joke  On one occasion last year, we headed down to the bus stop in Stuben to find probably 300 people queuing for the bus to Lech
Apart from that, the area is brilliant
