I am based near Basle and am looking for suggestions for somewhere to take the family skiing when they come over.
Germany, Switzerland or France are only a snowball away so I am really fortunate that I am in a good location.
My family are coming over in Feb holidays for about 4 nights and we are looking for reccomendations as to where to go.

My requirements are ,
the resort must have an english speaking ski school.
Not too fussed about the apres ski though.
Hotel is fine, self catering even better.
Must be reasonably priced, from what I can see Switzerland is extrememly expensive so if France or Germany were cheaper then as a taster holiday they would be more suitable.
Basle doesnt need to be the epicentre as I can get myself over to where they fly into.
I would be grateful for any suggestions of accomodation and resorts suitable for beginners.
My wife and i skied a long time ago so we would be looking at the ski school too.

thanks

I've never skied in Germany but I know that Swiss and French ski schools would normally have English-speaking instructors. If you are all beginners and will be joining ski-schools then pretty much any resort will be suitable as they would have bunny slopes and instructors would know the areas they can take beginners to. You can research resorts on snow-forecast.com. They normally publish descriptions, reviews and links to resort websites where you can find the rest. But French Alps is a fairly long way away so may have to settle for Switzerland or Germany.

Try the Salzburger Sportwelt, somewhere like Flachau perhaps...good range of terrain, lots of easy stuff, English widely spoken, not too expensive.
