Thinking of going to les gets 1st week of April , anyone have experience of how much snow is likely to be there

Les Gets is quite low and looking at the snow history it's about 50/50 whether runs back to resort will be open first week in April.
There will be skiing but it is impossible to predict the quality and quantity of snow/pistes open etc.
My view - it's a bit low for a late season holiday.

Thanks Andy, I was hoping to ski through the upper levels, having only skied once before, and it was in les gets. Have you any other recommendations?

Anywhere with a resort height of 1600/1700m and skiing of 2500m plus should be fine in early April.
This is French Alps heights, other countries are available to ski says I before the Austrian lovers jump in (where reliable snow holds at lower levels)!!

This is true, but two things about Les Gets; they are bloody good at piste management, they get a cold airmass helping to preserve snow better too. Oh and a third - lots of pistes are on grass so a few CM of snow will cover pistes.

All this said, many runs were browned out by early Jan last year.
Yeah, I knew that.

Les Gets maybe low but have skiied many years in Morzine/Les Gets around early April and pistes are always in good condition.

The town would have lost most of the snow but the runs will be good. Especially on Mont Chery the other side of the town - really recommend it!
