Hi guys,
First time going to Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. Have been going to Courchevel past few years, and stayed at Samnaun once. Will be staying at Wurmkogel hotel. Any advice about the hotel? Is it in Hochgurgl or lower down in Obergurgl? We'll be there Jan 6-14, so snow by then should be fine, yeah? Basically anything you can tell about this place would be appreciated. Thanks!

We went to Obergurgl last March. It was very nice. Quite a small village with mostly upmarket hotels. We stayed in the Jenewein, which we loved. The Wurmkogel seems to be in Hochgurgl. Here is its website http://www.wurmkogel.com/en.html.
There is a link between Hochgurgl and Obergurgl, so you could go to Obergurgl if you get bored with Hochgurgl.
I imagine the snow will be fine in Jan, as there was still plenty left in March. We had a week of blue skies. Both resorts are above the tree line, so might feel a tad bleak in bad weather?
I'm sure you'll have a great time. We would certainly return.

We went to Obergurgl in Feb last year and the snow was excellent. We stayed at the Madeleine.
The link between the two resorts is easily accessible, I preferred Hochgurgl's runs.
You must venture up to the Mountain Star, if not a black run skier there is access down via a narrow blue (I think) run.
The Nederhutte locted on the blue run back to the main area is a must. Enjoy!
