much of the skiing in the US is done at smaller ski areas. This is a great video about Montana's small ski areas.

Great film. It would be lovely if all those small places could survive, but it must be so hard for them. Gotta admire the volunteers who put so much time in to make it all possible. The sight of the empty lifts and slopes almost made me cry!

Yes 'I call them "hidden pearls" since the people are "real". The runs have "character" since they are not straight boulevards. The challenge is at every turn and finally the "après ski" is done with the workers, the patrollers, the managers!

I seek out these places,,,,,but I rarely share on net where they are!
