Just booked my Second ski trip of the up coming Season and looking for the cheapest possible accommodation in Sauze D'oulx or a resort with in driving distance of Turin.
My christmas package deal has cost a fare bit but I couldn't turn another 4 days down with my mate as flight into Turin with ryanair were as cheap as chips just need to find some accommodation to suit.

Thank you for any help.

Sauze is 1.5 hours on a bus, so driving your own car will be quicker. Its also very easy off the motorway just before the Frejus tunnel, and its not much of a climb up to the resort from the motorway.
Its also cheap for accommodation and socialising.
I am sure there are other good places to consider, like Courmayeur for example but I liked Sauze and its quiet on the extensive slopes too.
YOu might want to consider driving a little further and heading into France and stopping around Briancon/Villeneuve and skiing Serre Chevalier.....? Wonderful area.

Try the Hotel Glacier in La Thuile; brilliantly-run. clean hotel. Quiet but extensive and surprisingly challenging slopes. Dead easy to get to, off the motorway beyond Aosta (there's another option, with skiing in Pila) and up a mountain road from Pre St Didier.

Anywhere in the Via Lattea circuit is easily accessible from Turin. Don't overlook places like Sansicario, Claviere or Sestriere but Montgenevre is only 10 minutes further up the road and is a huge favourite for anyone that has ever skied there.
Go through the Frejus tunnel into France and the Maurienne Valley and you have Val Cenis and a handful of other small resorts. Or, access Val Thorens and the Three Valleys from the high-speed gondola in Orelle where there's some quite nice, resonably priced accommodation at Hameau des Eaux.

Think about going due north from Turin to Champoluc ( the next valley to Cervinia), over 150Km of pistes, the same snow quality as Zermatt, and cheap as chips!
Look at Hotel du Rocher, or go to the Champoluc web page.
What you save on petrol you can spend on great cheap Italian food, average lunch, on the pistes, with wine about €15. plat du jour €10,
and great stuff too boot!.
Have fun
