Hi everybody, my girlfriend and I are flying to les arcs march 26th, were both first time skiers, but it would be great if we could meet up with experienced skiers or beginners over the week so we can see more of the mountain. Hopefully we pick it up ok! Should be fine as I used to skate board and blade and surf on a regular-ish basis over the summer months. Thanks all, tom.

Which village are you staying in Tom? Les Arcs is a big ski area with some great areas for beginners - late March should give you good snow and quiet slopes so good timing!
For skiing, you'll find your blading/skating muscles useful - if you can do a bit of that before you go then it should help a little.
Read (and watch) as much as you can before you go - it all helps.
...oh, and have a great time too!

Tom, if you and your girl friend are beginners and have not skied/boarded before then you really need to have lessons. Just trying to pick it up is a very bad way to start. I skate, surf and blade and it is not the same. But you should have the balance. You could even hurt yourselves quite badly. Ifyou have the chance then taking lessons at a snowdome in the UK before you come out is an even better idea. Followed by some lessons when you get out here.
If you come down to Arc 1950 and pop into George's Wine Bar after skiing we can have a chat. I am around most days.
Check out mu facebook group page for lists of Instructors. All those mentioned speak English and are good. Send me a PM if you want any more help.

W have 6 2 hours lessons booked for while were there, I'm not sure if snowdome will be a possibility as wete saving all our money for France, heard its rather expensive. do you have a rough idea of price for pint? Meeting up for a drink sounds good to me. Where can we find you? Tom

A pint is about 5 or 6 euros.
