Review of Avoriaz, France
"Easy transfer from Geneva and relatively snow sure"
reviewed by Rory *
Great for a long weekend with mates - good, varied skiing and easy to get to. A bit limited on the accommodation front, but great resort and will go back.

Very well groomed given lack of fresh snow. Backside runs a lot of fun! Beautiful views. Trees would be great on a powder day.

Mayrhofen is a great resort at Christmas as it is snow sure. A lot of other resorts can be hit and miss early in the snowboard season.

Learned to ski here with excellent local ski school instructors. English widely spoken helps with lessons. Been back almost every year since. Not a party town so don’t expect wild nights. Traditional town with no high rise development. Comfortable friendly feel, always a warm welcome.

Been to Warth many times since 2014, did not go last year as the group I take, we go the first week in March. In 2025 Fasching was that week. Headed back this year with 10 folks in our group. I always stay at the Lech Valley Lodge, 5 stars, just amazing. hotel and staff. Warth seems to always have snow.

We love Big white, big area with lots of different runs for beginners to expert. Always heaps of snow. Plenty of places to have a meal, day or night. The lifs are great, no waiting in huge lines like some places. I wanted to rate 5 's for a lot of things but it wouldn't let me do it. The pricing at Bigwhite is quite reasonable for everything. We love it.

Usually a pretty cold hard mountain. This day was great. Conditions were top notch. Not much apres. Didn’t dine at the restaurant. Staff is friendly. Homey vibe inside. Where grooming had been done it was well groomed. I loved the tall snow whales the groomers let us ride/ play on at the top and throughout the mountain. Iike those a lot, and I like that they were not all off limits.

Well connected with Paradiski, inbetween Les Arcs and La Plagne. Can ski to either side of resort and back comfortably in a day thanks to excellent lift network. Great variety of pistes for all abilities and snow sure thanks to high altitude peaks.
