Review of Adelboden, Switzerland

"Adelboden, lovely village, lovely slopes"

reviewed by Dgou *

Adelboden village is very pretty and a working village, easily accessible by train and bus from the major Swiss cities. There are a wide variety of shops, everything a skier could need. Plenty of souvenir, Cheese and chocolate shops.

A ski hire shop in the village and one at the base of the gondola station should see you kitted out easily.

The skiing areas are accessed by several gondolas. There are a variety of lift passes to buy, depending on what you want to ski over the Adelboden- Lenk area, so a good idea to look at the websites before you travel. The lift company are very efficient at answering emails, a rarity these days. Once up the top there are a wide variety of runs and the beginners area is accessed by ski bus from the middle station, head to Geils. The restaurant at the top of Silleren has magnificent views - and also magnificent prices - but you are in Switzerland!! There are plenty of other places to stop too. Tschenten is another ski area and also has toboganning. The World Cup Run is also available during the day and for night skiing. You'll meet a lot of different nationalities there, very nice!

Skied there for two days snow was great. We stayed there for 5 nights and its location allowed us to ski in three other resorts in the area. Great base for skiing different areas.

A splendid resort, often overlooked as LaPlagne and Les Arc are close. LaRosiere links to Thuile with some fabulous cruisy blues in amazing locations. The lift system is good woth short queues. The snow Igloo cafe high up on the LaRosiere side is just spectacular .. its unique and beautifully crafted. You'll need your coolest looking snow googles to enjoy the views and look good and i must uprate mine for 2026. Go Ski Enjoy !

My family skiied at Tsugaike in mid Jan 2026. Snow wasn't really dumping at that time so we had to contend with some icy runs. That said, my wife and children are basic and intermediate skiiers and love some of the more gentle runs available. Some great runs to carve on. Experts might find the runs a bit dull after a few runs. Lifts worked well. Restaurant quality was great. Only complaint is I wish there were more maps available as I got lost of some of the runs. Overall, I was happy with Tsugaike and would return.

Brides-les-Bains is a great value way of staying in the World famous 3 Valleys linked ski area which has over 600 km of linked ski runs to suit all abilities. The investment in new lifts in the whole area occurs every year and largely eliminates all queues and increases the comfort of skiers.
