Yes, you missed the point in true American style.
Apres ski in Europe, in bars on and off the slopes, is accompanied by cheesy rubbish europop songs that all the Germans/Austrians actually think are good, and belt them out at the top of their voices whilst performing some kind of ooom pah swaying dance with gallons of beer in their hands. Its good fun to watch and join in with on holiday, but I wouldnt want to be tuning in to their top 40 every week.
