The ski area of Kelchsau is in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 800m 2,625ft , with 17km 11 miles of marked runs.

Kelchsau is part of the SkiWelt area with access to 288km 179 miles of downhill skiing, with 186 marked pistes, served by a total of 90 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Kelchsau itself ( 17km 11 miles of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other SkiWelt ski resorts of Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going am Wilden Kaiser, Hopfgarten im Brixental, Itter, Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser, Söll and Westendorf.

Skiing

The Kelchsau ski area features over 30 kilometers of slopes with elevations reaching up to 2,000 meters. Notable pistes include the challenging 'Schwarze Piste' and the scenic 'Familienabfahrt', serviced by the efficient K2 lift and the newer Hochbrixen lift.

Kelchsau offers good sking, particularly, for Expert and Intermediate skiers.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Kelchsau is Innsbruck Airport, 60 minutes drive away.

Munich, Salzburg, Bolzano, Linz, Memmingen and St. Gallen-Altenrhein airports are all within three hours drive.

Innsbruck Airport is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

To reach Kelchsau, fly into Innsbruck Airport, which is approximately 80 kilometers away. From there, a scenic drive via the A12 motorway leads you directly to the resort.

The four ski lifts are able to uplift 3,500 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Season Dates

When is Kelchsau open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is mid December, and usual closing is Early April.

NOTE:- Ski area, lift and piste opening is subject to Current Snow Conditions.

Aprés Ski

After a day on the slopes, enjoy après-ski at the rustic Gasthof Rigi or the lively Alpengasthof. For a late-night vibe, check out the local bars that offer a warm atmosphere and traditional Tyrolean cuisine.
