Gmunden at a glance

One of four ski areas near the year round leisure destination lake, the Traunbee. A gondola lift takes skiers and winter hiking from lakeside Gmunden up to the ski area. There's a toboggan run and other winter sports.

There are particularly good facilities for Children including a Kinderland with a dedicated lift and ski run.

Although not one of the world's best known resorts today, the neighbouring Feuerkogel cable car (tram) is one of the world's older ski areas, celebrating 80 years of operation in 2007. The local ski school celebrated its 70th anniversary in the same year.
