What differences? I thought we were all addicted to the white powder that seems to dominate our lives and suck up all our hard earned money

:D

Merry Christmas everyone, and hope the New Year is especially good for you all.

Your most spectacular fall ?

Whats the chances! :D

 I knew it wasn't just me. They should put one of those accident black spot marks up to warn people
So far, I have only purchased a new pair of trousers.

However, I also want to get..
a new pair of gloves
new sunglasses
new walking boots
hd video camera

and following a promotion at work today, I am contemplating finally getting my own skis and possibly a new ski jacket (I really like the Audi ski jacket this season), plus I am seriously looking at the cheap price of studios at the moment.

I think the best one I have had was on the mens downhill course in Lake Louise.

About 2/3 of the way down you come over a ridge and hit a shortish steep bit. Not really sure what happened, but I suddenly found myself no longer on my skis  I could not stop myself at all, and am sure I was accelerating as I slid for the best part of 80 yards down the piste towards a left hand bend. Fortunately, the catch netting had been put up prior to a competition, and I can honestly say, it is very impressive in the way it stops you when you hit it.

I passed the two buddies I was skiing with on my back, and they both nearly wet themselves laughing as I floundered down on my back

The good news, throughout all this, I kept both my skis on and both poles stayed attached, and I simply stood up in the netting and was back out on the piste before the others were even half way down the bit I had slid

It was probably this single event which caused me to start skiing with a helmet, as I was totally stunned at the way I just accelerated down the slope on my back.
Let's get this season started!

Even Kitzbuhel now has white roofs in the town.

Oh no, please not the fall over!

The secret is to fall over in such spectacular fashion, both your skis come off and go shooting down the mountain, then all you have to worry about, is whether your salopettes are up to the challenge of sliding down the run with you in them

Seriously, I don't have problems standing up as long as there is some sort of slope, and usually, the steeper the better. It is when on the flat I seem to have issues  Just get the edge of the skis into the hill and they should stay fairly stable.
Dare to drive!!

Perhaps I should add, that we still book packages. Most TO's will adjust the price down, and include your Eurotunnel tickets in the package.

Only thing to then check and arrange is the parking at the destination end. Varies from free to €'s depending on whether covered and secure.
