Sami, I do hope you are trying to arrange a flight home for her and not you! Well done for skiing The Tunnel...We did the Sarenne twice because it was such a lovely run but decided to leave the tunnel for our next trip in three weeks. We are going with friends then...Safety in numbers! |

Pablo, I think that we were lucky compered to many. We had three fabulous days there and the mess up is slightly easier to cope with as it's not our main holiday, we've still got that to come.
Ally, As for my 2nd interview...I've decided not to go tomorrow, there are lots of other jobs advertised for that area at the moment so I think I'll take a bit more time and start again. They all start in September anyway so no time lost. Bandit, the boots are still good, in fact better than good. Admin, thank you for your sympathy all be it very brief...I am feeling much better now! |

I don't know where to begin...What a nightmare!
1. Outbound flight early Thursday morning cancelled. 2. Flight next day diverted to Lyon in it's final five minutes. 3. Two hour wait for baggage. 4. Two hour wait for bus back to Grenoble 5. Two hour wait for bus to ADH (finally arrived in resort Friday evening) 6. Return flight cancelled, booked on next available flight 24 hours later. 7. Just got back today so missed interview (School basically said tough luck if candidates are affected by adverse weather conditions). Tony and his crew had a far worse nightmare than that, they didn't arrive in resort until Sunday. Their plane was diverted to Geneva, they were put in a hotel for the night, all baggage and skis were left in London and as of this morning when we left ADH they still did not have their baggage and had not had the opportunity to ski. This is only a bfief summary and I'm sure Tony will fill you all in further when he gets back. He is furious! My short break was first meant to be 4 days, which went down to two and then back up to three days (as we decided to stay in resort for another day when we were told our return flight was cancelled). It was glorious weather, blue skies and plenty of sun with the most amazing snow conditions, we could not have wished for better. The skiing was so good that it was worth all the hassle for us. We can't wait to go back in 3 weeks. Still deciding if I should get in my car in an hour and drive to Somerset for the second interview which is tomorrow, there are severe weather warnings in Somerset for today and tomorrow and I am exhausted! Sadly we didn't get to ski with Tony and his group but we did manage to meet up with Andy for a quick beer, he was very lucky with his flights etc and is having a ball. I seriously hope they all have a blast for the rest of their week out there and I am so glad I am not Tony's TO rep! |

Absolute nightmare!!...We arrived in ADH 2 days late, now seem to be stuck here airports closed everywhere.
Tony and his party have not arrived yet, were diverted to Geneva and put into a hotel for the night. All their luggage is missing. He is currently in a taxi on way to ADH and not very happy at all! Clairebo is still stuck at Luton, was on plane for 2 hours then tqken off again§ On a slightly brighter note the powder here is fab and its blue skies. |

At present Gatwick is open, and departures are getting back to normal (But still some disruptions). Arrivals have just started being allowed but still major disruptions. I'm booked on a 6.35 am flight, again...Sitting here with fingers crossed...That's all I can do. :-)
