I as in Cervinia last new year and I had an amazing time, really nice long runs and the visit to Zermatt was just beautiful.
We stay at a Crystal all inclusive, Petit Palais which was by the gondola and worked out really good value, convenient and the food was spot on. Just had a look at it's about £550 for a week in January. I think I managed to drink over £500 of free beer while we were there. Only down side to Cervinia is the Ski pass price but you get a lot of skiing for your money, I would just upgrade you local pass on the days you want to go over to Zermatt unless you plan on going over more than twice. We managed to take the first gondola up the mountain and skied to the furthest point you could in Zermatt and back in the day, was very hard work and we never stopped all day but well worth it. Just don't get stuck on the swiss side it's a very expensive taxi ride back, I was told it was in the region of 500 euro's |

Flights into Grenoble are really cheap, there is a thread on here for flights from £67 return inc ski carrage.
There are several car hire company's at the airport and there are loads of Ski resorts with in a 2 hour drive. I have done Les Deux Alps and stayed in a youth hostel which I would never of done had my girlfriend not booked it but it was great 30 euros a night half board and the food was really good and we were less than a 5 minute walk from the main lifts. |

I skied the milky way this year and loved it, sestriere had some great skiing but I would say you are better off saty in Sauze.
If you are wanting something away from the hussle, try this place I stayed there and the food alone was worth the nighly charge. 5 course meal every night, not once did i manage to order all 5 courses due to the size of the courses. The best part for me though was being thevery first person to ski th slopes every morning on a couple of occaisions I followed the Piest basher down. they also pick you up by skidoo. http://www.ciaopais.it/inglese/chalet.html http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g194891-..._of_Turin_Piedmont.html#REVIEw I got flights for £69 return to Turin including my bag and the train was 15 euros return. |

brooksy I may well just do that as I am also staying in room 6.
AllyG, it isn't a total coincidence, I had put it on my short list of places I had found in the Tignes area we liked and then I had a look on here to see if anybody had stayed there and found that it's the place for J2ski holiday,(which helped make my mind up) I had never looked at the thread as I have to go at christmas due to my girlfriends work holidays. I shall write a full review with pictures while I am there. Not sure the Mrs was to happy yesterday though as I was more excited about booking this ski holiday as I was the honeymoon we also booked yesterday. |
