Take eurostar to paris and a night sleeper from Paris to resort. Dump bags at accomm and have some extra ski time.
You can then either repeat in reverse or take a TGV to Paris and get to London early evening. |

Meribel & Whistler. Wouldn't want anything too big - 4 maybe 5 bedrooms max. Would want to be slopeside with short walk into town.

I'd speak to Catherine Pouppeville - www.skicat74.com
She specializes in teaching kids and has given our son private lessons for the last 3 years. He's had ESF lessons in the mornings (in Flaine where we have stayed) and 2 or 3 privates with Catherine. She is excellent. She would probably also be happy to guide you between ESF and ESI in Les Carroz as she will know both well. Don't wait till you get there though! |

Driving to Alps one route suggests via Reims the other Paris? Best route please.

Some old gloves for the chains is sensible too.
The old route was always Paris before the Reims motorway was built. Paris is shorter but only quicker if you go through between 1am and 4am! Remember to park facing downhill in the mountains (if parking outdoors) and leave the car in gear with the handbrake off if it's going to be very cold - not much fun trying to free a frozen handbrake! Also remember not to leave your windscreen wipers on the windscreen unless you want to peel off the rubber! |
