Off to my usual spot, Quebec. So will ski out of Mont-Sainte-Anne, Le Massif and Le Relais (friends work there so whilst its small I have a good laugh).
I know people can do it in under an hour but if I want to be cheeky and get the instructor discount I will have to stick them in over night so it will mean going round like a slug for the first day as they are literally desperate to be done  Just thought I may look into getting them done before I go. |

OK people I am off skiing again in 2 weeks and my skis have no wax or edges left on them from the last trip (slight exaggeration but you know what I mean!)
Usually I get them done in resort but didn't get chance this time before I left. Does anyone have any experience of having their skis serviced in or around the Manchester area? I know Snow and Rock and Ellis Brigham do it but would like some feedback or recommendations otherwise I will wait till I get to Canada - although it will mean a delay in me getting on the slopes..... |

Ouch L!! Full sympathy for you...
Often fractures and dislocations of the elbow do result in you not getting full extension back but in all honesty you will not notice as you will find you can't straighten the arm out fully. You are likely still to have 98% extension. Think its a situation of head down and do as your told by the Drs to get a full and quick recovery. |

AllyG a buff is most certainly one of those "neck warming thingies"
They are great as a face mask until temperatures fall below -8 when the moisture then freexes and they turn into concrete  |

Thats the thing that most appeals to me about Canada - their leisure/work balance. Granted they are like America in the fact that most employers don't give more than the statutory holidays which are minimal compared to over ehre however they do have the work and social life mix correct. Canadians like Australians don't get so caught up in the world of work and have a true social life outside of work whereas over here too much emphasis is placed on work life and the material world.... Canada is the option for me as it is closer to home - oh and Oz has never appealed. Get me out of here asap!! :P |

Its not a happy world for me at the minute... Just the thought that I could have been doing the ski season as I type this is killing me. Ah well the bigger picture must be remembered (get my TESOL, residents visa (thankfully I should qualify), keep working on the French and then go off to Quebec) All else fails I may take up one of the three marriage offers I had when friends were trying to convince me to emmigrate  |

A move to Canada is currently high on the agenda for me... my only problem is finding a job I can do without the need to retrain for 4 years!
