Get together for those up North!
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 112 Replies
Hi guys! I am noticing that there is going to be a together down south. Sadly I can't go! So how about meeting up for us northerners. I live in Newcastle and don't mind travelling a bit and am wondering if anybody else thinks it is a nice idea. Get to put faces/personalities to names etc. I am open to any offers/suggestions within reason! Cheers, sue

I want to say that I have never had a problem with the snow at Zell. The best runs are higher up anyway. The only thing you may not be able to do at beginning/end of the season is ski back to resort. I don't mind about that as the lifts are so good. My friend went to Zell the year of little snow and never had any problems. There are 5 of us in my family so that makes it expensive. At least the exchange rate has improved somewhat since I went in Feb.

I'd go to Zell too! In fact I plan on going for the third time next year! Never been to St Anton but has a reputation as being expensive? Like skiing is a cheap holiday anyway!!

Never been to St Anton but would definitely recommend Zell am See for a lively night out. Oh and the skiing isn't too bad either! If you are really good then you may find the area not too challenging. You also have the option to visit Kaprun on the liftpass or you could visit Saalbach but you have to pay extra for that.
Anyone seen this site before

It is great fun in a sad way! In Feb I was in Zell am See with two of my children. I left my oldest at home and everyday he texted me with all the relevant facts. Even my ski instructor was excited to know how much we had done that day. So I even knew all the stats before I got home!
Getting rid of old ski wear

Thanks for all your ideas! I actually live in Newcastle upon Tyne so freecycle seems a great idea. I have salopettes which have only been worn for 7 days and are in perfect condition. I know I would have been over the moon if someone had offered me ski stuff. Instead I had to kit 5 people out when we first started skiing and those pesky kids keep growing!!
