What on earth does everybody do with ski wear that the kids grow out of after one season's wear? It is not worth putting it on ebay as I bought it pretty cheeply. I physically could not give it to a jumble sale and I am unsure whether the Charity shop is ideal either. I really would rather just give it to someone who would hopefully enjoy skiing as much as I do. Any ideas as my cupboards are getting a bit full now! Thanks!

Another saddo here! My kids can't believe that I look at the webcams when I come back from skiing! They don't know that I also receive daily weather reports either! They have now stopped! Must maybe get out a bit more......

I absolutely love Lost- obviously nothing to do with Sawyer either!! I think that if you have watched the previous 4 series you are determined to stick with it to the end. Series 5 is much better than the last one, but am I lost?? You bet!!! My three kids have to explain what's going on as I can't remember what happened 5 minutes ago never mind 5 years ago! Best thing on the telly at the minute!

Hi! Really sorry to hear your news and I hope the operation goes well.
I can actually empathise with your situation as about 8 years ago I was very ill and decided that when I got better I was going to start skiing- as you do!! It was only 3 years ago that I was able to do this and obviously I became hooked. It was the thought of doing something that I had always wanted to do that kept me going during this time and even now I can't believe that it is me whizzing down those ski slopes. Unfortunately I was ill again over the summer and I also asked my doctor if I would be able to ski as I already had my holiday booked. Looking back it is actually quite funny as I was unable to even walk at that time! Anyway I have made a great recovery and go skiing next Saturday. The point that I am making is that you should never give up on your dreams. You may have to do things slightly differently than you would have originally planned but it is so worth it in the end! Good luck. |

Hi! Maybe I can also add something else useful. Three years ago i stayed in Kirchdorf which is an ideal beginner's resort only 10 mins away by ski bus, I visited St Johann a couple of times and really liked it. I can remember in the restaurant at the summit the man was wearing his leiderhausen (not too sure of spelling) as you would expect, except it was about -20 outside!! Brave man!!
However also included in the ski pass was Steinplatte which was absolutely super. Very wide, long cruisy blues and an 8 seater chair lift. This was only my first ski holiday and I found the skiing just perfect. I am not too sure which resorts the Schneewinkel liftpass covers now but as Steinplatte is approx 30 mins from St Johann I would certainly try there if you can. I hope you enjoy it! Sue |

Hi. In the past I have had to declare epilepsy and to be honest it hasn't made too much difference to the premium.
My advice however is to look at various companies and see how things are worded. I say this because I have had to answer yes to some questions which has pushed the price up considerably, but the following year I went with another company and although I had to declare the same medical condition, the question was worded slightly differently so I could answer no and the premium literally halved. Hope this makes sense!! I have recently been diagnosed with MS so I was pretty worried when I got my travel quote this year, but it was much the same as before. I think that if your condition is stabilised and you don't envisage having any problems during your time away it is relativley straight forward. Good luck!! |

Whoops!! Just practising what the quote and edit things do- modern technology!!
One other thought. If I had damaged my hamstrings would I not have had any discomfort since? I am pretty fit at the minute and do not get any pain when I do any form of exercise. Just wondering. |
