Pain in the arse!!

Thanks guys for all your useful advice and I will go and see a sports physio. I have only been skiing for a couple of weeks and although the head knows what to do, the body just won't cooperate- very annoying!
I have booked myself in for another week of group lessons and hopefully I can gain a bit more confidence and control- that's the plan anyway.

Tino_11, I hope your roids recover. In fact maybe it wasn't a nosebleed you had on the slopes afterall!!! (I am hoping you get my Geordie humour!!)

Well at the back of the top of the legs really! Close enough!

This year I only managed skiing for 3 out of 6 days. The reason, after the 2nd day skiing I was in a lot of pain- I did fall quite heavily and the legs went in opposite directions and I wondered if it was that. No pain on 3rd day, but on 4th day it was very painful when I turned to the point that I just pointed the skis downhill and was off very fast. This was to the amusement of my ski group and my instructor had to come and rescue me very quickly. That was the end of this year's skiing- everything was fine after a couple of days rest though- no permanent damage

Has anyone got any ideas what was going on? Someone said I had probably hurt my hamstrings? I know my parallel turns aren't the best so I am off to Xscape to practice. I tend to lose control when it is a bit steep or I go too fast so I tend to do lots of turns and spend my time skiing up the mountain to slow myself down. I sometimes think I am skiing up the mountain rather than down!

Please help! Has this happened to anybody and what did you do? Is there any excercises I should do before I go or is it just a case of improving my parallel turns? I just don't want the same thing to happen next year! Thanks!

Thanks Dave- that would be really great!

Went to Zell for the first time earlier this year and absolutely loved it- can't wait to get back. Did actually get to Kaprun for the day. I hope you enjoy your time there!

I am not going mad! I have found out there was a major fire at the mountain hotel at the top of the Schmittenhohe late yesterday afternoon. They were almost finished the renovations at the hotel and I think they had spent a couple of million euros so it is not good. I had been planning on dancing on the tables at Hans Schnapps which is the lively pub there but I guess that will just have to wait for another year! I think a couple of workers were taken to hospital but I don't think it was anything too serious- could have been.

Hi guys. This is my first post although I have been reading the posts for a little while so I feel that I know you all a bit.

Anyways, I am off to Zell in three months, two weeks, three days and 45 seconds- not that I am counting or anything!! Not really too sure on the days/seconds as I am not quite that sad! Bit alarmed to see that there has been a fire (I think) on the Schmittenhohe- it looks like Hans Schnapps is quite damaged from the live webcams. Do any of you good people have any inside knowledge of what is going on?

Thanks for any info

Sue
