I think it is not only on CEM's doorstep but in fact is his doorstep ...

I should read the footers on the messages!

As my teachers used to say read the whole question before answering, in which case it's what CEM said!!!

What do I know!!!

Just a poor fit for you that you will need help in sorting out, back at the shop if you can or specialist boot fitter at a cost. Near me and indeed on CEM's doorstep is the this company http://solutions4feet.co.uk/

Had same problem with a couple of pairs of rental boots because they did not fit properly, but once I purchased my own had the insoles made which for me raised the heel slightly in the boot, not had it since, had lots of other issues with boots but not that one again.
the thermic inners were from ellis the boots werent!

AHHH, I see just the way I read it!!

If she had got the boots from Ellis B. then she would have been able to changethem at no charge I have, twice, so I am sure other retailers should do the same if they are offering a professional boot fitting service, sorry forget the professional.

Worth a try.

Sorry not interested in the boots, but thought you said you weren't going to mention who fitted them, you did, Ellis Brigham.

Bit of a theme with them, I got mine at their Milton Keynes store and ended up with a pair of 26.5 when the first pair they fitted me with was 27.5, too big!!!

Went to Courchevel 2 years ago at half term, it is busy at ski school meeting times and of course lunch time, but don't eat piste side as already said, walk across to the forum or you can ski down to 1550, nice little blue runs down, much cheaper down there and then get the lift back up to 1850.

Although half term didn't feel over crowded as the area is so huge those that can get about will have gone onwards over to Meribel and further and lift queue's weren't that big as you have a choice of 3 and then a short ski under the tunnel and left is a 4 man chair too.

Don't let the girls loose with the credit card though, had to buy one of my kids a new ski jacket as she ripped hers to shreds in a toboggan run accident and the cheapest I could find in a shop in 1650 was 130 euro's, not pleased with that!
Calf pain - any advice?
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 25 Replies
My problem is that I get a nasty ache in my right calf when wearing them - the sort of deep ache you get just before cramp sets in. The pain eases when I actually ski, but returns as soon as I stop, so standing in lift queues and waiting for other skiers (I still have ski school sessions) can be quite agonising.

Its not just a female problem I had that a couple of years ago and have fitted boots and fairly wide calfs with heat moulded foot beds etc., but actually the pain was more to do with me, 1. not stratching calfs and achiles and 2. skiing in the back seat too much, which AlistairS mentioned.

A 3 hour lesson later, weight now fully forward, not had the issue when away but occassional feel it a little if using the poma drags at MK for a couple of hours.

Thanks for the info TC, what about lenses for poor light? Any particular type?

I have the Persimmon lenses which seem ideal for me in low/flat light, but tend to use them all the time.

The Oakley website has a chart to help you with lenses and I have seen some good deals on ebay
I concur with Bandit, as I have a single trip Direct-Travel Premier policy for my trip 6th Feb and that was my understanding too, but seems I might be wrong.
