If Adults then the British Materclass was recommended to us via one of the chalet owners, though we didn't end up going to Alpe D'huez in the end, so cannot comment on the lessons, but have seen them mentioned somewhere else, I think the Ski Club of Great Briain site!

Just seen Bandit's reply, been to both Tamworth and Miton Keynes, would definately recommend Milton Keynes as the better option, aso gets the poma lifts into use and the moving carpet on the training slope all useful for the resort.

Used Milton Keynes myself last year to learn and did the Ski in a Day course, Ideal and helped me loads to the fact that in a 2 hour private lesson in Avoriaz last year, the instructor had me skiing parallel and and after one more said just get kilometers under skis, which I did 2 weeks later with a 6 day trip to Meribel.
Have also used Milton Keynes for my eldest daughter(8 now, 7 then) last year, again was ideal she loved it and she then couldn't wait until we were away and came on leaps and bounds when away, so much so she has caught up with her cousins who we are away with this year so they can all go to ski school togther in a more advanced group. I have also teken her this year to a refresher lesson there to ensure that we weren't booking her into lessons when away this season that were wrong for her, well worth the money and eased my mind that we weren't pushing her. Also used the parent and toddler for my youngest (5) this year and again perfect for her just getting boots on and was snowploughing in about 15 minutes, though we did teach her ourselves through play last year when away, didnt get her in ski school then, mistake! She has already asked to go back and as we are not away until Feb, then I'm sure I'll take her. Worked for us don't see why it wouldn't for anyone else, just great fun! |

Still a newbee to skiing but in my first season managed 2 trips both catered chalets, one with the family and one a men only trip!
Have to say both excellent but more appropriate for the family, as my wife is struggling with the idea of skiing so to have to cook after a lot of waiting around for me and the kids would be a nightmare for her and considers it a part of her holiday and the food has been excellent at both chalets. With the lads only, being tied to a time was not great but it does ensure we get a couple of decent meals a day. Doing catered again for the family this coming season and hotel for the men only so could comment better after, but it was nice being looked after in the chalets, guess we just picked 2 very good ones. |
