Probably stay the Morzine and Les Gets side as the skiing for beginners that side is much better and plenty of ski schools to choose from at the bottom of the Pleny Lift, but ensure you book that before you go.

Wouldn't go up to Avoriaz unless the snow is really bad then the altitude up Avoriaz will help that.

There will be plenty of skiing Morzine & Les Gets for first timers and easy getting up and down from Morzine, assuming the Pleny lift is fixed after the fire at the top station at the end of last season.

There is a Ski Set for your ski hire about 250 metres from the bottom of the pleny lifts and they let you keep your ski's and boots there at no charge so not too much hassle where your accomodation is and they gave our group 25% off just walking in just because we asked for a discount.

Oakley do a Persimmon, HIgh Intensity Persimmon and High intensity Yellow specifically for loaw/flat light. Their website shows how it should look through the lens with photo's that represent the naked eye view an dthrough the lens view.

Takes a bit of finding but this link shoudl work

Then choose sport performance from the list in the middle of the screen and look atthe snow goggle range.

Basically, any yellow lenses or persimmon will work.

A friend last year had some cheap glasses from Screwfix with yellow lenses which were fantastic in the low light

Don't you mean make sure you have winter tyres on and some snow chains in the boot, not forgetting your hi vis jackets and breathalyser, extended insurance policy, european breakdown cover, copy V5, and some anti freeze?

Exactly, just wanted someone else to type it!!!!!

Morzine and Avoriaz, ideal for you in my opinion.

Was there 10 days ago and the pleny side of Morzine would fit the bill perfectly as would most of the Avoriaz side.

Les Gets links in as well, which I almost forgot and again fits in with what you want from your trip

Skiied the area twice staying in Champoluc both times, really enjoyed it and only did the run down to Alangna once but thought it was great as it was a challenge as it was unpisted, just a trudge across town and a long ride back up to get back across Gressoney and to Champoluc, quite easy really.

Also just used a set of BBR's last week when I had a quick 3 days in Morzine.

I had a look of horror on my face when the guy in the shop said try these, but he persuaded me to give them a go and I really enjoyed them.

The first thing I noticed was how easy it was to initiate the turn, as the turn radius was small, but felt stable under foot at speed as I clocked 48mph at some point on 2 day when I rememebred to to ski tracks app on, but at no point did I feel I was doing that sort of speed so a bit of a surprise.

In all I skiied about 80 miles on them in the 3 days and would use them again if offered as they allowed you short turns, carving or just let them run a bit without feeling unstable which I have with other ski's or could be that I am improving a bit too.
