I'm actually a design engineer by trade so you would think I could fashion something reasonably good, this however I would doubt :D

Ok so I can get mounts to make it slightly less obtrusive then. I'm really tempted with this as I'm fed up of riding behind people in our group whilst holding a camera and trying to board at the same time.

The cam claims to record in full 1080 which should give pretty good/clear footage. What's it like for reducing vibration?

I just watched the youtube video advert for it and I must say I'm impressed. Very tempted but it's not cheap by any means. The big problem is the attachments such as the pole or chest would be no good for me I guess as I snowboard? So I would only be able to use the helmet one which if we are honest looks a little ridiculous stuck on the top of your head.

Any one used one whilst snowboarding?

Scared no, useless yes. This is a guy that went on his first ski holiday with me last year and fell off the chair lift (at the bottom) twice. He actually got sat on the chair between me and another mate then two seconds later he had gone, luckily we were only about 5ft in the air. I don't know how he did it but by god it was funny, even the lift guy was bent double laughing along with everyone else in the line. Still makes me chuckle when I think about it now

I tend to use phone apps. I would debate how accurate they are though as my friends claimed he was tracked doing 40mph down a green run in tignes last season and he couldn't drive at 40mph let along ski at that speed.

Tony the cam should just produce standard files for each pic/video then use imovie on your mac (Part of the ilife package) import them and its so easy you wouldn't believe it. You can choose from loads of themes, add music and even do fancy editing without breaking a sweat.
Snow

I think a lot of it is to do with inexperience. Its easy to think that a ski resort is guaranteed to be covered in snow throughout the winter months, people who are inexperienced will look at the nice pictures in the sales books and think that's exactly what it will look like. They assume this because it's a ski resort, then upon arrival when they are met with greenery and sun they are shocked but have plenty of time to ponder this on the LONG chairlift up to the snow.

Its only once you actually look at annual weather data etc and take note of resort heights and which have glaciers you start to tailor your holidays accordingly.

Unfortunately I only have one trip this season in the first week of march, still not booked as I'm willing to risk paying a littler more on the prices now to ensure I get the snow. But at that time of year I can assure you it will be high up with a glacier.
