I have to be honest and state that personally I don't like drag lifts. I will try to avoid them, but not to the point of "no way", and will use them if it means there is no option, or like Tony, to avoid a delay.
I think this goes back to when I first learnt to ski in the 70's, and the drag lifts would frequently just stop, at which point you would start to slide back down the groves, with the inevitable result of half the class falling over. Chaos then ensued and we often had to tramp quite a way to get to somewhere suitable for a beginner to ski down and start again. I was always happiest when the class went up routes with bucket lifts. I do not recall that we even had a chair lift in the resort at the time. |

Not sure Icy will be able to resist though, he just loves talking about his exploits with his pole

3 sleeps and a nap left for me
The two guys I work with in my department are praying for Friday to come round so I bugger off and give them some peace. Both happen to originate from the tropics and neither of them are particularly enamoured with snow, unless it cause the school to shut and give them a day off. I have also taken to randomly setting a suitable alpine picture as the desktop background for various teachers. This drives them mad, as they are not allowed to change their own backgrounds, so they get a snowy picture till I decide they have had enough  |

Holy cow, perhaps I will not be so rude about left hand drive cars in the future! The driver was removed injured (not sure how he is doing, as was transferred from Albertville to Grenoble hospitals), but I really doubt if anyone was in the passenger seat they would have survived. |

Nice little hobby you have there Dave, and a perfect excuse to get out there each winter. Do you sell any or are they just for fun?
I too am an artist  just not with paper and ink, but it too also gives me a good reason to get out to the mountains with a dedicated band of fellow artists each winter! |

Thanks for the info Andy. I hope it gets rebuilt for next season, although I guess it probably will never be the same

I'm looking for an update on the Bananna bar after it burnt down last year.
Best info I can find, is that they are open for a couple of hours a day for "Apres", but not too sure what that means and why only a couple of hours. If anyone has been to VDI in recent weeks, I would appreciate an update. Thanks. PS Does Dicks still smell of stale vomit and bleach? |
