Following an accident I had with a pair of sallopettes a few years ago (they were probably too tight to start with!) I now always pack two pairs which I ensure fit me before departure  Last full sleep for me tonight :-) |

:D Just to highlight this point, but I used to go to Le Mans for the 24 hour endurance race. I went for over 20 years and had started to use a forum dedicated to the event and similar round the world. I arranged to meet up with a bunch of them one evening for a drink and a chat. To my vast amusement, but the rather strange horror of my real friends who did not use the forum, a bunch of these guys turned up dressed in bondage gear complete with gimp masks and leads  Whilst I appreciated that this was just a group of guys having a drink and a laugh whilst on an alcohol fuelled boys only weekend, I never lived it down with my real friends who wanted to know why I had arranged to meet up with a bunch of deviants. I should point out that these were only a small group out of nearly 100 people, but that is all it takes for things to be misunderstood by some. |

Icy, don't forget that a lot of the big TO's also offer a ski guiding service, so you should always have a group of people to ski with during the day. This will almost always lead to you making friends within the group, thus giving you someone to enjoy a beer with after the skiing has finished.
You never know, it may also lead to a new Mrs Icy  |

Ian, I am not sure that this was what Snapzzz had in mind. The way I read his suggestion, it was to try and arrange a suitable resort and date, then let anyone who wanted make their own group arrangements with a view to being able to meet up with other J2Skiers when they are out there. I quite like this idea, as it gives people many options. After all, we are not all possibly going to get on well when we meet, and booking a week with a bunch of "Internet Friends" has the potential to be a disaster for some. Perhaps if people meet and ski, better friendships may form with individual groups leading to further ski trips together. That is the way I read the post, and personally I would be up for a trip like that. I just cannot go during UK half term weeks the Easter holiday or the weeks immediately before these holidays. This is a work requirement, and I am only managing to do the week before half term this year as the holiday was booked six months before work decided to change my job role. |
