If the bbc could just get rid of Claire Balding it would be perfect

She's not the most knowledgeable. Her Rugby League presentation is even worse. And don't get me started on the Canadian downhill bint that's co presenting. Apparently she won a gold medal in 1992. You have to listen carefully because they don't mention it much.

Brilliant viewing I was a whooping and a hollering. Only thing I didn't like was that Graham Bell wouldn't shut up. Yes I know the skier from Norway is a big, strong, powerful bloke. You've said it every 5 seconds. And I know you've skied against him and I know the other fella's brother does slalom.

Apart from that loved it.

Isn't there also a possibility of the parachute deployment causing veering or lifting of the person which could move them into a position of more severe danger. So, the initial collision is avoided but a greater hazard is created.

Frog & Roast beef at the top of the town usually has offers on. There's another bar further down the road on the left which is always jumping. Can't remember name but usually full of lairy Germans & Dutch and dodgy Europop.

We had a major sugar fest last night. Pancakes with choccy spread, followed by Yum Yums and Easter biscuits. I was like a four year old on Panda Pops orangeade by 10pm!
Think I need to go for a run today.

We were there from Boxing Day for a week and its 'proper' skiing in my opinion. Here are a few thoughts:
- if you go to Schilthorn (Murren), go early! Its train down, over the road, up a cable car, another train, walk through Murren (beautiful), 'nother cable car, then another!!
- coming back from Murren, take the cable car down to Stechelberg, the drop off the edge of the valley is spectacular. Then get the bus back to Lauterbrunnen.
- do the red (21?) from Kleine Scheidegg down to Grindelwald in the morning before its too busy. Long, long run through the forest - keep your speed at the bottom to get through the flat caravan park
- be surprised by people who go skiing in a caravan!
- ski the Lauberhorn.
- keep a train timetable in your pocket, it can be a nice alternative to a lift, but you need to avoid a 20 minute wait before an already slow train.
- have a traditional Swiss fondue.
Enjoy it!

Before you ski the red down to Grindelwald, stop at the outdoor bar at Mannlichen (out of the cable car station turn left, by the heliport). Have one of their 'special' hot chocolates. Can't remember the name of it but it has a lovely shot of rum in it. Or, if you fancy a bite to eat ski down towards Grindelwald and stop at Brandegg for some scoff.
You will love the place. I've done Grindelwald twice and would be happy if I didn't ski anywhere else. It's stunning.
