Railway station, Brucie, not train station!!!!

Endorse what you say, though. The railway stations that are part and parcel of the airports make it much the best way -and most economical - to get to a Swiss resort. And the Swiss Transfer Pass is a set price at £72 return is excellent value!
Fancy a change...Jus...I think!!

Went to La Thuile in January; was more impressed than I was expecting to be, especially by the lack of queues!

Saas Fee - glacier, high altitude, north facing!

I was a modernist too! Owned a Lambretta Li150 and then a Vespa! Still enjoy the old Northern Soul sounds that were originally associated with the mod scene- Keep the Faith!

Far more interesting than insurance, helmets and Benny from Crossroads and his woollen hat!
Beware Backpacks and Chairlifts!!!

Some chairlifts, in Switzerland particularly, forbid you from wearing rucksacks on the lift. The lifties insist you remove them before boarding - and very sensible that is, too.

Horrible incident involving a British school pupil last week whose rucksack became entangled and was left dangling by the neck from the chair.
Some nice deals in France sound ideal for your purposes!

Somewhere with a high altitude - Val D'Isere/Tignes; La Plagne, Les Arcs, Three Vallees - lots of varied skiing and a fair old percentage of north facing slopes and I'm sure you'll be in business.

Or if Switzerland interests you, Saas Fee with its high altitude and glacier slopes may be just the job!

I think you'll be spoiled for choice!

Exactly as was predicted many, many pages ago! Not good for personal freedom, but inevitable, I fear.

The Hoheneck was ok, but I like the look of the Ski Lodge - and it's a bit more convenient for the railway station and the gondola.
