Tony, Flaine might be a lot of the things you don't like about France, but you are right the ski area is good.
Thing is, there are so many places to go - I'm keen to go to La Plagne.
My sister came back last week and said it was probably the best ski holiday she has been on. And Austria is normally her favourite too.

Well... I reckon it should read
If you're not [going to Val Cenis] it's your loss.

And I am inclined to agree that..if you're not [going skiing anywhere this weekend] it's your loss.

Ok, it has warmed up and it's not dumping with snow lower down, but there's plenty of snow and the girls are really excited.

And I'm not going to Val Cenis either.

Dids1, you sound really desperate to go to Val Cenis

Ian, I would be quite happy to go to VC, I've just seen the webcams (which were on this site)...and it looks like they have new snow.
I am off to Les Saisies this weekend - and they don't.

I'm hoping that the predicted rain either does not happen or it turns to snow - or we'll be getting in the car and heading elsewhere.
St Gervais looks good.

russco wrote:Thanks guys for your opinions and wait for It i have decided on neither of these resorts and gone for flaine (grand massif ski area)well next question is ?!!! Is it a good decision to choose flaine ?comments good and bad please!

IMO it is a very good move!
Biased as I love the Grand massif (and especially Samoens, Ally)

Been there loads of times and no problems with the toilets - that France is apparently so well known for

If you are ok that it is not an attractive resort in terms of accomodation & you want nice open pistes and lots of runs, you won't be disappointed.

Great choice.

The other day I googled lmao ..and depending if it's a capital I (eye) or lower case l (ell) then it could either be
laughing my ass off...or in my arrogant opinion.

Someone is going to be happy!

Extract from a report on the SCGB website

TJ Baldwin, who is also sponsored by the Ski Club was seriously impressive, winning the National Junior downhill title for a second successive year and holding his own in the senior race, coming in 5th just behind Ed Drake.

This is news from the British Land Champs in Meribel this week

I liked it. And for me it is ski related. I work so I can afford to ski.
