9 days on SkiSet, (on this page) given as /£176.

I found the prices for skis to be good, so I bought a pair at the warehouse in Dillon.
Wee Question About Hydration

Brucie, many of the older generation don't drink and ski, (not that this includes me, I am still only 28 years old...)

I have never understood this need to carry water around. Even when I ran my regular Sunday 20 milers, I didn't need water, and didn't really need to bother during many marathons. I certainly lost weight in those efforts.

I may stop once during the morning, but my choice of drinks are hot chocolate or pure blackcurrant juice, (as opposed to the fizzy stuff.)

As has been suggested, more experienced skiers use less energy, with the converse for skiers moving through the learning process.

Certainly, off piste skiing in heavy snow has an effect!

Anyway, I have found I have a propensity for playing catch-up after 5.00pm ......

Wide Stance

As Pavel says, being comfortable is what matters. Bandit noted that when you learn to ski has a bearing on the cut in point of one's learning.

Also, if you can manage to ski on a continuous basis, say a minimum of 2/3 consecutive weeks, then body balance improves, and stance width matters much less.

So, I will ski from wide stance to narrow, depending upon, slope, conditions, mood, etc. As in:

La Thuile what's it like ??

La Thuile is a great family resort. The Planibel apartments are located right beside the gondola, so ski carry is not an issue.

The nearby pizza shop will give your children one lesson, and the next night, they will be expected to order in Italian! Of course, Italy is a very child-friendly country.

It is true that the return runs are more difficult than the outward runs.
Should i go to Austria.

Yellow card to Icy! Easily converted to a Red card! One of my ultra-best New Year visits was to an old farmhouse above Scheffau. We showed them how to play curling, and they showed us how to play Eisstockschiesen.

The farm family will remain friends forever. Scheffau is a good entry into the Schiwelt. So much so, I wrecked my good reputation for ski planning by ripping the group across towards Kitzbuhel, and running out of time to get back!

Have also stayed in Ellmau, really good.

Have also stayed at the Gansleit in Soell. The old Hausfrau made me strip off my ski stuff in the street, (yes, it was covered n thick mud, but that is another story)

Conversely, while many folk rave about St Anton, I thought the runs were badly planned, resulting in 4.00pm chaos. I was pleased to see that a number of ski journalists agreed with that. There are better places to stay in the Arlberg. OTOH, I made a good friend in the pubs where the locals go.
Should I go to Mars?
