Skiing Powder

It is easier to not think about leaning back but countering the extra resistance on the skis/boots/lower legs. I don't really know how to describe it any better than that, works for me
Whistler, what all is needed?

Whistler do use explosives for avalanche control. Light yellow/pink/orange, I have found pink to be most effective so far.
Heated gloves

I saw a pair at £230 yesterday. Didn't try them though. It seems a lot of money to drop on gloves, they didn't seem like they would be that durable (in terms of wear and tear on the gloves themselves) and on that basis I wouldn't go near them.

Or move to the Midwest and you'll have to learn to love them
In easter you are fairly likely to have regular snowfall too, it isn't a foregone conclusion that you will have to deal with melting snow. The best time of day to ski could be 'all day'.

Settled, temperatures above zero on lower slopes combined with the sun could lead to

I think conditions are comparable with most places in Europe right now with cold temperatures holding for the foreseeable. I have 5 ski resorts within 3 hours of my house, magic 8)

Expensive 'sallo's' needn't be insulated Ian, you can get 'shell' pants as well, going cheap wasn't necessarily the answer. Do let us know how you get on, I am sure you will be giving their waterproofness a decent test in LGB ;)
Ski Bindings question

peakmonster wrote:Hi,
whats the main differences between hire and you own ski bindings?
Other than i have noticed on hire bindings the front one is adjustable for quick centering for different foot/ boot size etc?

Depends, even within non-hire bindings there are huge differences. Adjustability, weight and stack height are the 3 main ones I can think of.
