Banff is a great shout if you don't mind the travelling, and all 3 local hills have decent parks now that Lake Louise have theirs back.

Pila has far more interesting terrain than Cervinia alone. Courmayeur too, actually.
Hoping for a couple of trips next year including a couple of weeks training round Switzerland and a hop across the pond. |

Cue Trencher...
Not sure I like the 'step uphill' analogy. |

Haveyou got a snowdome nearby? I'm not a fan but it is a pretty good environment to practice controlled skiing (and gets very boring if you're not making lots of turns).
Reinforcing the consequence of straight lining down runs would be good. The bottom line is that carving is more fun, so I'd find a recommended instructor who little Snapzzz will look up to and listen too. I'd imagine she'll make good progress with a 20-something instructor that can place some value on the fun aspect. Really I'd be surprised if she wasn't progressing faster than you with a bit of care. |

The skiing in Cervinia is pretty flat and cruisy from my limited experience. Definitely more interesting and varied terrain over the other side (which you can't get to if the links are closed in bad weather). Ideal for an early intermediate I reckon, if not I'd stay Zermatt side of the hill.
