I don't see much difference between Wengen's skiing and Grindelwald's skiing (apart from First, which is a thoroughly pleasant area). Bit more life in Grindelwald than Lauterbrunnen and I wasn't going to put this, but you provoked me: I bird I know lives in Grindelwald!
Sorry, mate, but that looks awful! (It's the same where I'm going so I'm not gloating.)

I preferred to stay in Grindelwald because of; ease of rail transfer from airport; bigger range of cheaper accommodation; the added bonus of the First ski area - and the chance to ski into Wengen and visit Murren!
Gutted, trip cancelled.

Loads of times, can please yourself, do want you want when you want to....FANTASTIC!
I hate it when people use expressions similar to 'the Val D'Iseres of this world'. Does he mean Val D'Isere? If so, say Val D'Isere. Last time I looked there was only one Val D'Isere in a skiing context! Soccer speak, I fear.

Sorry, rant over!

My point is that teaching plowing will cause later issues to intermediate level skiers, Just watch this winter as an intermediate skier approaches a "stressful" section ! Back to snow plow !!!!

And what's the problem with that? A snowplough or stem turn can be most useful on narrow tracks, in an emergency, on a steep slope that tests your ability and confidence.

Properly executed snow ploughs do not involve sitting back. They have been a fundamental building block for teaching ski technique for decades and still have a part to play.

And back in the 1970s, US ski team coach Warren Weatherill used to take racers on runs where they were permitted to do nothing but snowploughs. It improved their carving, ankle flexion and hip and knee angles, apparently!
Getting the Jitters!!!

Forecast from Austria this morning: mild and sunny weather to continue. No change likely until the end of the month, at the earliest. Grrrrr!

On a Saturday in December, the return fare from Basel Euro Airport to Grindelwald is 141.20 Swiss (that's £97.60 in British pounds!).

If, as Bandit says, there's a fare rise on top of that, then you're probably better off with the SwissPass.
