Sanguine: hopeful, cheerful, confident, optimistic, ardent, enthusiastic, full of blood, plethoric.

Look in a dictionary, it's much easier than this new-fangled goggling nonsense!
I admire your optimism. As neither of us are going next week, we can afford to remain sanguine about the situation!
I know all that, the variables, etc etc etc...and I'm not worried about my first trip just yet. But I would be worried if I were going in the next week or so - it's going to take some serious snowfall to get this season going! Sooner, rather than later, I hope....
I'll tell you what's frustrating...watching the weather forecasts for Solden and Obergurgl.

It was going to snow on Thursday, then Friday, then Saturday, now Sunday (perhaps!) Next week, there may be 'precipitation'!

It is getting a little colder, though, and five more lifts are opening at Solden on Friday for some man-made action!
On the subject of sunglasses.....

Have some Cebe goggles - no idea of the model or the price, but they weren't expensive. They are my longest surviving pair as the tale below is typical.

Didn't have goggles on a particularly poor visibility day in Tignes a few years ago, Got down to Tignes les Brevieres for lunch and decided I had to improve my vision with a new pair. Purchase made, not cheap, but much better afternoon's skiing. That evening, leant on them in the bar, cracked lens, useless goggles!
Good news...that might an excellent alternative to the 6am red-eye flight from Heathrow!
You will need to have some form of instruction plus equipment hire, as well as accommodation. Use this website to have a make a shortlist of resorts that you like the look - and then get researching. The internet is a wonderful tool - I wished there'd been something like it when I started skiing!
wheres the snow!?!

This morning's forecast from Austria - not good reading, I fear:

The general weather situation over Europe will change towards weekend, however, the weather conditions in the Alpine regions will remain quite the same. The long-term high-pressure weather will continue on until Friday, then it will pull away to Russia, however, new extensions of a high-pressure area approaching from the Atlantic will reach us. A few harmless clouds will approach and the wind will intensify. Significantly milder air masses will approach, subsequently the conditions in the high-mountain regions will remain too mild for the season or they will become even milder. Bright sunshine is expected from Sunday on. Anyway, winter weather is not expected, however, sunny conditions and fresh clear air are expected, whereas in the flat country the skies have been grey for weeks.
