Ian, give up :lol: It might be expensive for the most part but I am sure you can do it on the fairly cheap too (as others have pointed out a couple of times). Go and make up your own mind or don't waste your own time posting about how expensive the resorts you have never been to are!

Diesel (assuming higher low end torque), would let you get in to higher gears at lower revs which I guess is good for snow? I would assume it is more to do with the person driving, if you have no grip it won't matter either way!
