We only had about 2 inches of snow, but our steep, narrow lane is untreated and had a base layer of ice and we did not see how we could get out.

Brainwave. Chains.
We've driven to the Alps 5 times and never used them - and of course never practised either.

But, we got there and once you've done the 1st one the 2nd is easy.

Top tip.
They are not easy to put on. Don't do what we did and learn how to do it when you need them.

It wasn't fun working it out at home. don't fancy it on a freezing mountain road.

Thats 1 thing i dont/could never do announce what i had paid... just doesnt seem right to me but i suppose were all different.

I couldn't either. It would really p*** me off if I paid full price and I found someone had paid hundreds less.

He's not too keen on TV except Sunday afternoons when it's football, football, football.

There probably are all sorts of motivational talks you can give, but if were me I wouldn't be taking someone who was that scared there again.

Avoid that resort and plan your days using easier runs until she's more confident, as she'll probably refuse to ever go skiing again.

If you do get in that situation again, don't let her go straight down. By using the slope fully, from side to side, she will find it slower. She can also gather her wits at the side and not run the risk of ploughing into anyone.

Call me weird but I'd lbe quite happy with 18 hours on a coach!

I'm not very tall and don't find them at all uncomfortable. I could read and sleep when I wanted. I don't get that opportunity too often.

It's a no-goer tho as my husband is of normal stature and mental state and likes to be in control. So we drive.

Do you mean you want to work as a baby sitter or you want someone to do some for you?
